Could you believe that the sweetest memories comes only from a bowl of steam rice?? I did... :P
I'm typically person that so easier touching only by small things come.
and for me steam rice not only steam rice. but also include a lot of my precious childhood memories.
When I was child my family especially my grandma always make
a steamed rice with traditional way in the morning.
My grandma will use a heavy
pot and with a firewood instead of stove or rice cooker.
I always love the
smell of the steamed rice after the riced cooked.
The smells like so delicious
and suddenly make me hungry.
And I will request to my grandma to serve me immediately.
The fresh steamed rice served with a block sea salt.
Haaaaa?? A block of sea
salt? Yessss… right. We called it sego tutul uyah. And this dish really popular
among of the children in my kampong. Hahahaha…..
But it’s about couple years ago, now when I back to hometown
my mom use rice cooker to cooking steam rice.
Aaaahhh how I miss the smell of
fresh steamed rice…
I thought the Japanese way
to make a steamed rice is also same with our Indonesian kampong style.
So I decided to make this steamed rice every time if possible to make it.
Usually when I serve dinner or lunch for us I always make a steamed rice with
this way. But pardon if I have to make this for potluck or big group. Rice
cooker maybe will better to doing this job. Hahaha,,,,
